When you're on the highway and it's snowing, it's always a sensible idea to slow down and increase the distance from the cars in front of you, as you never know what lies ahead. As they say, better to be prepared than sorry.

If you don't adhere to this very simple rule, your chances of getting into an accident are exponentially greater.

One Mistake Leads to Multiple Crashes on Icy Highway

Are you feeling a little bit down these days? Well then, there is nothing better than a video from the Land of Dashcams to bring your mood back to a good place again.

A festive group of young farmers or hunters, possibly from Russia, judging by the music and the language heard in the footage, were out in the open having some fun in nature when one of them decided to take his classic Lada sedan for a drift ride on the wet grass.

Lada Grass Drifter Goes from Slide-ways to Down-ways

From the moment Nissan announced that it will revive its dormant Datsun brand with the goal of conquering emerging markets, we knew that cars like the 240Z were out of the question.

At the time, one CarScoop commentator projected that the new generation of Datsun models "are going to be rebodied Dacias", which as it turns out, isn't too far from the truth.

Nissan's Born-Again Datsun to Share Platforms with Lada

As we have seen more times than we care to remember, slowing down at a zebra crossing is something not all Russian drivers are accustomed to, which leads to myriads of accidents like this one.

Only difference here is that after seemingly smashing into the car in front and on the side, the driver of the white Lada Samara quickly turns the hatchback around and heads towards the other lane abandoning the scene of the accident, almost causing another one in the process and leaving the other road users scratching their heads…

Driver Startled by Car Stopping at a Pedestrian Crossing, Makes a Run for It

True, Russian dashboard cameras have afforded us hundreds and hundreds of spine-tingling accidents over the years, but we cannot honestly remember any as shocking as this one, and at the same time, ending on a happy note.

Once again, the protagonist in this scene is driving a classic Lada / VAZ 2101 saloon.

We're not sure if the driver attempted a foolish overtake of if he was trying to avoid something on the road, but he drove between two busses in his lane and lost control of the RWD sedan crashing side first into a large truck on the other lane, which sent him flying into one of the busses (with the camera).

Holy Russian Luck! Driver and Passenger Make it Out Alive from Horrific Accident

The jury is still out on whether the protagonist of our latest Russian offbeat video had lady luck on his side or if he's that good behind the wheel of a truck, but either way, the save was impressive, to say the least.

If you pay attention to the dashboard camera-sourced footage, at about seven seconds into the video, you can see an old (or new, it's the same thing anyway…) Lada Niva 4x4 legally entering the road from a side street.

Lucky or Talented? Russian Truck Driver Avoids Crash in Style

As it seems, Russian drivers have become so immune to extreme road rage cases that when someone pulls out a gun and shoots at a fellow commuter in broad daylight it simply causes them to laugh – no kidding, as you will soon find out for yourself.

This particular incident begins with a young Russian holding a man purse, who came out of his car to squabble with the driver of an old Lada saloon behind him for unbeknown reasons to us.

Russian Road Rage Incident with Man-Purse "Boy" Ends with a Bang

Even as is kids, we are all taught to cross the road safely and that's something that should stay with us forever, right? Well, perhaps that holds true for most people, but some insist on following their own rules and ultimately, pay the price for it…

Like the man in this video who not only forgot about pedestrian crossings–though in all fairness, for all we know, there may not have been one nearby, but while he was walking through the moving cars and trucks he failed to remember one very basic rule: always look towards the direction that the cars are coming from.

Always Look Towards the…Right Side of the Road

This video proves a couple of things, including fitting aerodynamic mirrors to your old Soviet-era sedan will not make it go any faster, and that there is an endless supply of really, really bad drivers on Russian roads Read more »

Overly Confident Driver Attempts a Stupid Pass, Someone Else Pays the Price for it…

You would think that by the year 2012, some six decades since Nash (in 1949) and Ford (in 1955) offered seat belts as an option, and 54 years after Saab first added the feature as standard in 1958, people would have learned that seat belts are there for their own safety and not for decoration purposes.

Try telling that to the driver of the black VAZ 21099 (some may also know it as the Lada Samara in certain markets) that was involved in a scary accident in Russia.

Russian Driver Thrown Out of his Car after Crash Walks Away

Here's one incident that could have easily led to a horrific crash with multiple fatalities, but which, thanks to a little bit of luck and a cool-headed reaction from the driver of the car with the dashboard camera, was luckily evaded.

The driver of a white Lada Samara hatchback grossly underestimated the speeding capabilities of his car and foolishly attempted to overtake a bus on a two lane (one for each direction) road.

The camera-equipped vehicle passed right in between the Lada and the Samara without touching any of the two.

Driver Passes Car Through the Eye of a Needle

If you were to begin viewing this video from the 20-second mark and on, you would be excused to think that the driver and his passenger simply parked their beaten up Lada Riva Estate (VAZ-2107) in the middle of the road and left to go on to their work or wherever else they were heading to.

Watch the clip from the start, though, and you will be surprised to learn that a couple of seconds earlier, they had just smashed into the black Toyota Land Cruiser you see sitting behind the Lada!

Ukrainian Driver and Passenger See Nothing, Hear Nothing, Know Nothing after Crash…

If there was ever a driver more eager to stop upon being signaled by police officers on foot, it would be the person sitting behind the wheel of this black-colored Lada Niva (some of you may also know the rugged 4x4 as the VAZ-2121).

The Niva was traveling on the road when all of a sudden; two Russian traffic cops came out of the woods and walked inside the first lane to signal the driver to stop.
