So far, and leaving aside GM's own press photography, we have seen the brand-new 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray on the floors of the Detroit Auto Show, at the recent Barrett-Jackson auction and parked at Jay Leno's Garage.

If that's not enough, then you may want to thank some very lucky (?) members from the Corvette7 forums including Vette_85, who were able to photograph and capture some footage of the seventh generation of GM's halo sports car out in the streets.

Trio of 2014 Corvette Stingrays Pictured and Filmed Out in the Wild

As these lines are written, we bet most road test editors, especially in the U.S., are green with envy. Why? Because a famous car enthusiast, who also happens to have his own motoring show, just beat them to driving the car everyone’s dying to get their hands on.

No disrespect to colleagues, but when it comes to getting first dibs on the 2014 Corvette Stingray, it surely helps if your name is Jay Leno and you are a very high-profile car nut and Corvette enthusiast who also owns a ZR-1.

The first retail production model of the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette with the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) ending in 0001 was pre-sold at the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale collector car auction on Saturday night for $1.1 million, or more than 20 times the expected MSRP of the base model that will arrive in U.S. showrooms this fall. First Production 2014 Corvette Stingray Fetches $1.1 Million at Barrett-Jackson [w/Videos]

The flow of information regarding the new 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray continues with a trio of videos that show some new aspects of the car itself as well as General Motors' promotional efforts targeting the press.

We'll begin our sightseeing with a clip that comes to us courtesy of the crew over at GMAuthority who placed a microphone up, close and personal to the display model's buttocks at the Detroit motor show as GM fired up the 450-horsepower V8 engine.

Sadly, that's all we get as the person sitting inside had no soul in his right foot and turned the engine off faster than the Corvette can go from zero to 60mph. Bummer…

Take a Walk Around the New Corvette Stingray via a Photo Gallery and Videos from the Detroit Show

America's most recognized sports car nameplate is welcoming the debut of its seventh member since it came into the world in 1953.

The new Chevrolet Corvette is the third model in the series after the second (1963-1967) and third (used between 1969 and 1976) generation vehicles to wear the Stingray designation. It will receive its world premiere at the Detroit auto show on Monday, January 14, and go on sale in the fall.

As with all Corvettes or any other sports car for that matter, the first thing you will notice is the exterior styling, which in the case of the C7, breaks many traditions like the round or rounded-square taillights found on all Corvette's since 1961, while keeping others. Another new feature worth noting is the presence of rear-quarter windows, which were last seen in the first generation coupe model.

Many aspects of its design were previewed by the 2009 Stingray concept that appeared in the Transformers movies as Sidewipe.

It's too early to say whether the edgier and more sculpted design of the new Corvette Stingray will capture the imagination of buyers and fans alike and if it will become a classic, but as a first observation, we'd say that the from some angles, the styling looks unnecessary busy and overly trimmed, while we haven't warmed up to the plain-Jane-shaped rear window, yet.

2014 Corvette C7: Watch the Live Unveiling Now

Even if you’re not a Corvette fan, we bet that by now, you’ll be pretty frustrated from all the teasers GM is fanning out on the C7 while managing to keep the seventh-generation ‘Vette under wraps.

The fourth, and probably final, video released by the General about its upcoming sports car that will debut at the Detroit Motor Show next week shows parts of the car’s manufacturing process.

GM’s Latest Corvette C7 Teaser Gives Us a Glimpse of the Manufacturing Process

If you’re looking for a Chevrolet Camaro, you’ll certainly be drooling over the 580HP supercharged ZL1. The only problem is that it's priced at US$56,550, so if you can't or are not willing to spend that amount of money, the entry-level 323HP V6 model, which is priced from US$24,245 may be all that you need.

It’s got the looks, enough poke to light up those rear tires and justify its muscle car tag and costs way less than the range topper.

Even the SS, which puts out 426HP from its 6.2-liter V8 at $33,535 or US$37,035 in 1SS and 2SS guise respectively, is much cheaper than the ZL1 that can lap the Nurburgring in 7:23.51 and is, thus, priced accordingly.

MT Puts New 2013 Chevrolet Camaro 1LE V8 Through its Paces

It seems that pickup truck owners throughout the country have a thing for competing in amateur pulling contests.

Only a couple of weeks ago, we witnessed the finesse, skill, and let's not forget, the…ahem…sportsmanship between two drivers in a Chevrolet Silverado and a diesel-powered Dodge Ram Cummins battling it out on a parking lot before they moved on to challenge each other in a traditional fist fight.

So, what do we have in this video, that was brought to our attention by reader Patrick K.?

Most of you are already aware that American comedian and TV show host Jay Leno is a very serious car enthusiast who also likes to share his passion with others gearheads.

With the eagerly anticipated 2014 Corvette C7 just around the corner, Leno invited vice president of General Motors Design Ed Welburn to his garage. Welburn didn’t come alone, of course: he brought with him four Corvettes from the past.

This is one Chevrolet Matiz you surely won't be making any fun of; and how could you after you learn that engineers somehow squeezed a massive Corvette Z06-sourced 7.0-liter V8 that develops anywhere from 505 to 550-horses (depending on who you ask) into its miniscule body.

We remember showing you a V8-powered Matiz racecar concept back in early 2009 (see the videos after the break) , and unless someone else had the same crazy idea, we believe that this car found for sale on eBay Germany by CarScoop reader "CobraV8" is the same one with the addition of a racing livery.

As they say, men are just boys who haven't grown up, and what man doesn't have fond memories of Hot Wheels cars from his childhood years? With this in mind and after toying around with the idea for a few years, General Motors and Mattel joined forces to build the new 2013 Camaro Hot Wheels Edition, which we first told you about over the weekend.

“Millions of us grew up playing with Hot Wheels,” said Chris Perry, vice president of Chevrolet Marketing. “Offering a special production model of the Camaro Hot Wheels is an opportunity to bring those memories to life, for kids of all ages.”

The production model follows last year's concept and it will make its debut at this week's 2012 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, before it goes on sale in the first quarter of 2013 for a limited production run.

“It’s been nearly 20 years since I started designing cars for Hot Wheels and I have yet to drive one home,” said Felix Holst, vice president of creative for the Mattel Wheels Division. “Personally, I can’t wait to open the doors and see the Hot Wheels Camaro sitting in the garage.”

New 2013 Chevrolet Camaro Hot Wheels Edition is One Toy You Can Drive Back Home [w/Video]

It's no secret that the idea of turning a Hot Wheels toy car into a real life production model had been brewing in the heads of officials from General Motors and Mattel for quite some time, with the two companies even presenting a real-life Camaro Hot Wheels concept study at the 2011 SEMA show.

GM and Mattel have now finally materialized their dream and will be presenting a limited production run model at the 2012 edition of the annual aftermarket extravaganza in Las Vegas that opens on Tuesday, October 30.

The Hot Wheels-badged 2013 Chevy Camaro will be available as both a coupe and a convertible with either a 3.6-liter V6 or a 6.2-liter V8 engine, complete with a bespoke exclusive kinetic blue metallic exterior paint accented by red Hot Wheels flame logos inside and out, and special Hot Wheels-style rims.

The all-new, seventh generation Corvette is one of the most talked-about sports cars of the year, but strangely enough, also one of the few that has managed to keep most of its secrets under wraps.

Starting with the new Vette logo and a not-too-revealing (to say the least) video, we thought that General Motors would embark on a long journey of teasing us about the next iteration of the iconic supercar without telling us much about it until its debut on January's Detroit Motor Show.

Well, a substantial part of that "journey" was covered toady by the official unveiling of the LT1 V8 which will power the Corvette C7 when it hits the market in late 2013.

Boasting a capacity of 6.2 liters, the first of the new Gen 5 family of Small Block engines has an output of 450HP and peak torque of 450 lb-ft (610 Nm) that help accelerate the 2014 Corvette from a standstill to 60 mph (96 km/h) in less than four seconds.

Messing about with Chevrolet's Camaro is nothing new or uncommon, but turning a fifth generation model into a party house on wheels for desperate housewives and hooting teenagers, is something you don't get to see very often, which is why this limousine caught our attention.

Made for a company named ShowTime limos, based in the city of Perth in Western Australia, the stretched model is built on the Camaro Transformers Special Edition in SS guise, which means it's powered by GM's 6.2-liter V8 engine that offers up to 426 horsepower.

As we anticipated, last week's unveiling of the upcoming 2014 Corvette's newly designed emblem signaled the beginning of a long line of teasers that will culminate with the world premiere of the seventh generation model at the 2013 Detroit Motor Show in mid-January.

For the first official teaser, General Motor's marketing people created a short video that showcases some cropped bits and pieces of the next Corvette's body such as the sport car's front grille, four centrally mounted exhaust pipes (in a row), the exterior mirrors, and the rear fender.
