If you're expecting to see some crazy mishap take place in the following video, we’re…glad to inform you that nobody was hurt after the driver and passenger of this Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG 'Gullwing' came up with the bright idea of pushing out its 'upward-opening' doors at 70mph (approx. 113 km/h).

Before we let you read the author's account of the "fun to watch" incident and view the clip for yourself, allow us to note that the sticker on the SLS AMG's rear bumper suggests that the car is a rental, though, it could also be a sponsor, or the person who owns the company may be driving it.

Turns Out the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Can't Fly After All…

The MC700 is the newest tuning package for the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG sports car to arrive in the market and it comes courtesy of German performance outfit McChip-DKR.

It’s first duty is to take care of the pre-facelift SLS AMG's 6.2-liter V8 engine that in factory trim, is rated for 563hp (571PS) and 650Nm (579 lb-ft) of peak torque. There are four different stages, each of which brings in something new, including a supercharger kit, an ECU upgrade and a Capristo exhaust system.

Kicherer is no stranger to Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG, in fact, the German tuning firm has introduced close to half a dozen different proposals for the gullwing door model over the past couple of years alone.

Its newest take, aptly called the "Supercharged GT", continues the sinister dark theme with a matte black foil wrap, a hand-crafted mouth piece (actually, Kicherer calls it a grille, but just look at it…) that works together with a new carbon front lip spoiler, a discreet rear diffuser, carbon fins for the front fenders and a vented bonnet.

What could have been a follow up on Monday's news on the sighting of another prototype of Mercedes-Benz's SLS AMG Black Series Edition took a…toastier twist today as the German firm's test car ended up on a guardrail while running on the Nürburgring race track and burned to the ground.

There's not a lot of information about the incident at this time, though, we do know that both the driver and his passenger abandoned the vehicle uninjured before it was engulfed in flames.

The bits and pieces of the SLS AMG Black Series Edition that are scatted on the ground along with the positioning of the car suggest that drive may have lost control smashing into the guardrail with the Gullwing coupe's rear end.

Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Edition Prototype Burns to the Ground on the 'Ring

We've lost track of the number of SLS AMG Black Series Edition test cars spied over the past year or so, and as it appears, Mercedes-Benz is still not done developing the hottest production version of its 'Gull-wing' coupe.

Now, for the first time, we have captured the Black Edition without its face covered in camouflage, revealing the design changes and details such as the lip spoiler and the aerodynamic canards on the corners of the bumper.

This particular prototype was also fitted with a large fixed wing on the boot, something absent from the previous test models.

With a Ferrari F12berlinetta- and Lamborghini Aventador-beating 740HP (750PS) and 1,000 Nm (737.5 lb-ft) from four electric motors positioned close to the wheels, the SLS AMG Coupe Electric Drive that made its debut at the Paris Auto Show is the most powerful production car Mercedes-Benz has ever launched.

Despite being priced more than twice as much as the V8 petrol SLS AMG, millionaires interested in boasting their “green” credentials probably won’t be deterred by the more than half a million dollars sticker price.
