Mercedes-Benz launched its revised E-Class range at the Detroit Motor Show and its currently rolling out one commercial after another about its new products – even about the CLA that won’t be launched until Geneva.

The first rule in successfully promoting any product is to know who your target group is; whom you are going to sell it to and what they expect. Obviously, the E 63 AMG with its 557HP in standard form and 577HP in S-Model guise is not exactly aimed at those who simply want a premium luxury sedan or station wagon.

Watch New Mercedes-Benz E 63 AMG Put its 557HP to Good Use

The MC700 is the newest tuning package for the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG sports car to arrive in the market and it comes courtesy of German performance outfit McChip-DKR.

It’s first duty is to take care of the pre-facelift SLS AMG's 6.2-liter V8 engine that in factory trim, is rated for 563hp (571PS) and 650Nm (579 lb-ft) of peak torque. There are four different stages, each of which brings in something new, including a supercharger kit, an ECU upgrade and a Capristo exhaust system.

McChip's Power-Deluxe Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG

A very lightly camouflaged prototype of what we believe to be the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG performance limo was detailed on film while parked on the road by YouTube user DrGumoLunatic.

But what leads us to think that this is the S65 and not the S63 AMG, or for that matter, a regular W222 S-Class model? Well, we could mention the wheels and brakes, but the most telling part are the quad exhaust pipes, as each pair is connected, a trait seen only in the S65 AMG models – in the S63, for example, there are four separately shaped outlets.

Scoop: Mercedes-Benz's Next S65 AMG Super Limo Chilling Out on the Road

If there's one thing that Germany's premium carmakers know how to do well, it is to expand their offerings to cover every possible niche there is. That said, we wouldn't be surprised to learn that this prototype caught testing in Northern Sweden is indeed an AMG performance variant of the upcoming GLA, as claimed by our man with the long lens.

The most persuasive evidence that points to this are the big brakes with drilled rotors positioned behind large alloy wheels and the twin exhaust pipes at the back.

Scoop: Is Mercedes-Benz Prepping a GLA 45 AMG High Performance Crossover?

Detroit Auto Show Welcomes Mercedes-Benz's Revised E-Class Family

Earlier this week, Mercedes-Benz completed the update of the E-Class sedan and Estate/Wagon range with the presentation of the almighty AMG variants.

The new snout and re-worked body of the E63 AMG Sedan and Wagon tell only half the story as Mercedes also boosted the standard twin-turbocharged 5.5-liter V8 to 550HP (557PS) and 531 lb-ft (720 Nm), and enhanced the lineup with all-wheel drive 4MATIC versions and an even more powerful S model rated at 577HP and 590 lb-ft (800 Nm).

Look at Them Go: Mercedes' New E63 AMG and E63 AMG S-Model 4MATIC

Mercedes-Benz’s CLS four-door coupe is, in layman’s terms, a much more stylish version of the E-Class upon which it is based. Thus, after revising the E63 AMG, it made perfect sense to apply the same updates to the CLS range-topper.

The 2014 model year CLS 63 AMG gets the same engine updates and all-wheel drive system, both in the four-door Coupe and five-door Shooting Brake variants.

This means that power and torque figures are now 550HP and 531 lb-ft (720 Nm) respectively for the standard model, and 577HP and 590 lb-ft (800 Nm) for the optional S-Model package.

Updated Mercedes-Benz CLS 63 AMG Gain 550HP Plus AWD and 577HP S-Model Options

Apparently, giving the E 63 AMG a new face like the rest of the updated 2014 E-Class range that will bow at next week's Detroit Motor Show and adding its 4MATIC all-wheel drive as an option wasn’t enough for Mercedes-Benz's performance division.

The Affalterbach crew fiddled around with the E63 AMG's twin-turbocharged 5.5-liter V8, too, increasing its boost pressure from 0.9 to 1.0 bar. As a result, it now it puts out 550HP (557PS) and 531 lb-ft (720 Nm) of torque, an increase of 32HP and 15 lb-ft (20 Nm) over the outgoing model.

Since the standard E 63 AMG, which is available in saloon and estate forms, now has the same ponies as the previous car's optional AMG performance pack, they’ve also added the S-Model option that’s available with all-wheel drive and increases power to 577HP and torque to 590 lb-ft (800 Nm).

The standard model accelerates from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in just 4.2 seconds, a figure that drops to 3.7 seconds (3.8 for the estate) in 4MATIC versions. The S-Model is a tenth of a second quicker, completing the sprint in 3.6 seconds for the saloon and 3.7 seconds for the estate, while all models have their top speed electronically limited at 250 km/h (155 mph).

Refreshed 2014 Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG Saloon Photoshopped

The most hotly anticipated small Mercedes-Benz model since the 190E 2.3 16v (at its time, it was considered a small car for the German brand), the new A45 AMG, has been exposed for the first time with scarcely any camouflage.

In these fresh pictures, the final production model wears some black tape on the lower part of the front bumper, the grille wings, the Mercedes-Benz monikers, the center section of the rear diffuser and the side skirts, but other than that, it’s as naked as a newborn baby.

Those of you paying close attention to the new A-Class will likely have noticed that the A45 AMG's aero kit is identical to the AMG Sport styling package offered on the regular hatchback, with the only true differences between the two coming from the bigger, 18-inch multispoke alloy wheels, the honeycomb grille inserts, and the trapezoidal (instead of oval) tailpipes.
